Work Work Work

Just done 14 insertion illos for JKM Project. Now doing ems doll for Azila and Tini. After that I'll be concentrating on paintings for the upcoming Floral Choral Exhibition in July. The organiser has just gave me some fund to buy art materials. Isn't that just awesome?

And Daphne Lee has start chasing me for my new book! Have yet to write and do preliminary sketches!

Works. The neverending story. Uh-oh this reminds me of Limahl.

2nd BF and Joey Diggs

LOL I suddenly found myself walking down that memory lane. This one is associated with my 2nd bf, OB. He was the sun, the star and the moon. He was my world. We lasted 4 years but ah well, he was not the kind you want to spent the rest of your life with. He was fooling around too much that it hurts. I left him. He cried but I just walked on by. I was too hurt to look behind and mope with him.

Associating people I know with songs

Songs. They magically bring you back to the moment where they made significant changes in your life. They never fail to do that every time. I was browsing YouTube for 80s songs when I came across Rick Astley's Together Forever. This song reminds me of my first bf, GB. I was not madly in love with him, but he was. And one day, out of the blue, he went to the DJ (where we worked) and requested him to play this song just for me. He had me at "If there's anything you need....". Well, I thought it would last forever as Rick Astley meant it but truth was, the friendship lasted 2 months. I was not ready for anything serious, so I let him drifted away.

Music Me

I had stopped joining Music Monday on my main blog due to obvious reason that only two of my friends, the 'reason' and I know. Until the reason subside, I'm playing music by myself. Here's a song that I always listen to; Birds by Emiliana Torrini.

Emilíana Torrini (born May 16, 1977) is an Icelandic singer, best known for her 2009 single Jungle Drum, 1999 album Love in the Time of Science and for performing "Gollum's Song", during the ending credits of Peter Jackson's film The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers.

MM: Tori Amos 'Cornflake Girl'

I am a big fan of Tori. Really big. This is one of my favourites from her.

Never was a cornflake girl
Thought that was a good solution
Hanging with the raisin girls
She's gone to the other side
Givin us a yo heave ho
Things are getting kind of gross
And I go at sleepy time
This is not really happening
You bet your life it is

Peel out the watchword
Just peel out the watchword

She knows what's goin on
Seems we got a cheaper feel now
All the sweetcaze are gone
Gone to the other side
With my encyclopedia
They musta paid her a nice price
She's putting on her string bean love
This is not really happening
You bet your life it is

Peel out the watchword
Just peel out the watchword

Never was a cornflake girl
Thought that was a good solution

Rabbit where'd you put the keys girl
And the man with the golden gun thinks he knows so much
Thinks he knows so much
Rabbit where'd you put the keys girl

Music Monday: Chyi "Story"

I came to know about this song when I first heard the late Leslie Cheung sang it in the early 90s. I looked for the cassette later and found out that the real singer was Chyi Yu. Story was released back in 1987 and Chyi has recorded 24 albums since 1978. She was born in October 17, 1958.

I memorised the lyric to this day.

Story
I remember quite clearly now when this story happened.
The autumn leaves were floating and measured down to the ground.
Recovering the lake where we use to swim like children
On the sun would dare to shine
That time, we used to be happy
Well, I thought we were
But the truth was that-- you had been longing to leave me
Not daring to tell me
On that precious night watching the lake vaguely conscious
You said: Our story was ending.
Now I'm standing here
No one to wipe away my tears
No one to keep me warm
And no one to walk along with
No one to make me feel
No one to make me while
OH! What am I to do?
I'm standing here alone
It doesn't seem so clear to me
What am I supposed to do about this burning
heart of mine
OH! What am I to do?
Or how should I react?
OH! Tell me please!
The rain was killing the last days of Summer
You had been killing my last breath of love
Since a long time ago
I still don't think I am gonna make it through another love story
You took it all away from me
And there I stand, I knew I was gonna be the .....
The one left behind.
But still I'm watching the lake vaguely conscious
And I know---
My life is ending.

Mary Black - Frontier

I just can't wait for another Monday to post this song. I discovered Mary Black back in 1993 through a good friend, Nina, and I must say that fell in love with her voice ever since.

If life is a river and your heart is a boat
And just like a water baby, baby born to float
And if life is a wild wind that blows way on high
Then your heart is amelia dying to fly
Heaven knows no frontiers
And Ive seen heaven in your eyes

And if life is a bar room in which we must wait
round the man with his fingers on the ivory gates
Where we sing until dawn of our fears and our fates
And we stack all the deadmen in self addressed crates
In your eyes faint as the singing of a lark
That somehow this black night
Feels warmer for the spark
Warmer for the spark
To hold us til the day
When fear will lose its grip
And heaven has its way
Heaven knows no frontiers
And Ive seen heaven in your eyes

If your life is a rough bed of brambles and nails
And your spirits a slave to mans whips and mans jails
Where you thirst and you hunger for justice and right
Then your heart is a pure flame of mans constant night
In your eyes faint as the singing of a lark
That somehow this black night
Feels warmer for the spark
Warmer for the spark
To hold us til the day when fear will lose its grip
And heaven has its way
And heaven has its way
When all will harmonise
And know whats in our hearts
The dream will realise

Heaven knows no frontiers
And Ive seen heaven in your eyes
Heaven knows no frontiers
And Ive seen heaven in your eyes
