Dragonfly: Maroon


Will search the name later, at the mean time, enjoy the beauty of this beautiful maroon dragonfly which perched on my mom's orchid.

This is AMAZING! I just love dragonflies... am constantly painting them and trying to capture them on film. What is your lens like? I recently was given a D40 and am having a ball with it. Would be interested to learn more about this species... have never seen wings like that on any of the dragonflies around here.
