Boys are very intelligent
He expressed his opinion few days ago.
Son: Ibu, I think girls are not that intelligent.
Me: What makes you say that?
Son: They bring water bottle to the canteen.
Me: Isn't that's where you suppose to bring the water bottle?
Son: Not exactly. Me and and my friends, we only drink water in the class. If we bring it to the canteen, the tendency to lost it is quite high. They sell drinks at the canteen, no need to bring the bottle.
Me: So, moral of the story?
Son: Girls who brought their water bottle, tend to lost the bottle at the canteen. And most of them didn't get it back. So, in this case, boys are cleverer. We (referring to his friends and himself) made a wise choice to leave our bottles in the class.
Me: Nodded my head and thought hard. *Did I brought my water bottle to the canteen?*

Picture book vs purse
I remember having a group discussion about the price of my picture book and other books by the same publisher which are at RM33.90 with somebody who has a significant role in the book industry. He seemed to raise his eyebrows and rolled his eyes upon hearing about the price. He seemed very very surprised. It was written all over his face. This was noticed not only by me but few other friends who were there. He finally said, "Oh, RM33.90? Cannot go lower?"
But the next day, I got to know that he bought a leather purse for a female friend for the price of RM390.A little more than 10x worth from any one of the publisher's book.
I guess picture books are not worth buying to some.

Plainsong
Plainsong by Kent HarufMy rating: 4 of 5 stars
I like how Kent Haruf chaptered his book with names of the characters.
Plainsong tells a story about:
Ike and Bobby - struggling to understand why their mother left and be independent as their dad is working and leave the house in the morning after making them breakfast. They found friendship with an old lady who later went dead on them.
Guthrie - a lonely father who raises his sons (Ike and Bobby) on his own after his wife left him. His wife, Ella, is battling with mental depression. Not sure what drives her to depression. The book doesn't tell.
Victoria Roubideaux - a teenage who got herself pregnant out of wedlock. She confided in her school teacher, Maggie Jones and lived in her house when her mother chased her out of the house.
Mc Pherons - two good old brothers who took in and help Victoria after Maggie Jones senile father attacked her thinking that she broke into the house.
Overall, it was a great story, tells about life in a small town and how they connected and helped each other in times of troubles.

Empire Avenue Network Scores
Pasting this info just for my own reference. It's a game. Want to join and play social networking shares? C'mon aboard, click this link and join --> Empire Avenue.
Empire Avenue Network Scores
What it means
Your Network Scores are a series of numbers that describes the degree of your Activity, Audience and Interaction on different social media channels. It forms a large part of your Empire Avenue Share Price calculation every day, along with the buying and selling of your shares on Empire Avenue.
"Activity" simply means how often you use that channel, posting statuses, tweets, comments, photos or whatever other content you might add.
"Audience" is the size of the network of individuals that receives your content.
Most importantly, "Interaction" considers the reaction of your audience to the content you post: the more they comment, retweet, 'like', favorite, or otherwise respond to your content, the greater the Interaction portion of your Network Score will be.
How scores are determined
Each social network and online activity is different. Here are specifics on how we look at each network at this time:
* Twitter: Activity on twitter, the audience of your tweets based on your followers and the quality of your followers (bots, for example, are low-quality followers), the reach and quality of your retweets and mentions.
* Facebook: Activity on Facebook through posted updates and comments on your profile, the quality of your friends and their interaction with your postings and comments.
* Flickr and YouTube: Your activity through posting photos or videos, the connections you make with other Flickr and YouTube users, their interaction with you on Flickr and YouTube through comments and favourites.
* Empire Avenue: Your activity on Empire Avenue, excluding the specific acts of buying and selling; user engagement with you on Empire Avenue including how they react to you, engage with you and the success of your advertising.
* LinkedIn: Your connections, actions and recommendations count for your LinkedIn score.
Q. What's the maximum?
The Empire Avenue Network Scores do not have a theoretical maximum; however, if you manage to get a 100 on any of the Scores, we bow to your incredible social abilities.
Q. My score changes dramatically in the first couple of weeks. Why?
Our learning algorithms take a few weeks to truly understand what's going on with each of your connections. As time goes on, your score should stabilize and be more constant.
Q. Can I see a history?
At this time we have chosen to not provide a history of users’ Network Scores.
Q. Is this an "objective" score?
Nothing on the Internet can be defined as purely objective. However, these scores solely take into account the metrics that we can measure through various APIs on various networks. Ultimately, at Empire Avenue, we believe that "Influence" is not matter of a score but the objective and subjective decisions your network makes about your value to them as individuals. As such we refer to these scores as "Network Value Scores", how much value is inherent in your network based on activity, engagement and interaction.
Q. Why don't I have scores for everything?
We are currently working on scores for everything you connect. At this time we will not be publicizing the scores for Blogs. All scores are BETA and, as such, are only released when we are comfortable with the metrics.

2nd BF and Joey Diggs
LOL I suddenly found myself walking down that memory lane. This one is associated with my 2nd bf, OB. He was the sun, the star and the moon. He was my world. We lasted 4 years but ah well, he was not the kind you want to spent the rest of your life with. He was fooling around too much that it hurts. I left him. He cried but I just walked on by. I was too hurt to look behind and mope with him.

Associating people I know with songs
Songs. They magically bring you back to the moment where they made significant changes in your life. They never fail to do that every time. I was browsing YouTube for 80s songs when I came across Rick Astley's Together Forever. This song reminds me of my first bf, GB. I was not madly in love with him, but he was. And one day, out of the blue, he went to the DJ (where we worked) and requested him to play this song just for me. He had me at "If there's anything you need....". Well, I thought it would last forever as Rick Astley meant it but truth was, the friendship lasted 2 months. I was not ready for anything serious, so I let him drifted away.

Sticky situation and I almost cried
I was struggling to finish the 10 totebags order by Linda and yesterday, I spent my day and night just to peel the iron-on stickers!! Previously it was as easy as ABC, I iron them and peel. But yesterday was a hard struggle. The sticker wouldn't come out! Grrr. I think the iron-on papers are not in good condition unlike the previous ones I bought. They are from the same brand. Sigh.
I promised to deliver at 10am but only got to deliver by 11.30am. Lucky, sempat. I will never buy iron-ons from that place again!
On another note, I haven't been online today. Been cleaning my room, and the hall. My work corner was a mess! Not to mention my son's room and his bookshelf. He's not feeling well, been sick since morning, vomited 3 times at school, so I brought him to clinic. Let him rest and did not let him attend agama school.
Will resume work tomorrow. Gotta re-arangge my bookshelf now pula.

Music Me
I had stopped joining Music Monday on my main blog due to obvious reason that only two of my friends, the 'reason' and I know. Until the reason subside, I'm playing music by myself. Here's a song that I always listen to; Birds by Emiliana Torrini.
Emilíana Torrini (born May 16, 1977) is an Icelandic singer, best known for her 2009 single Jungle Drum, 1999 album Love in the Time of Science and for performing "Gollum's Song", during the ending credits of Peter Jackson's film The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers.

Suicide
Every time I passed by a building, it will remind me of S. S, just 16, committed suicide last month. she jumped off from the 7th floor of a building situated just in front of her house. She was a friend of my niece. My niece said she wrote on her facebook wall that she wanted to die. But as she was a very happy girl, nobody took her seriously. Of course that changes until she kept her words.
Looking at the building, my mind could not escape thinking of what had happened. Why she committed suicide? Family problem? Love problem? These questions keep repeating on my head. I sometimes saw the mother sitting on the porch looking at the building with sad eyes. I wanted to stop and talk to her, but I just couldn't. I don't have the courage; the courage to see a mother weeps for a daughter that she no longer has.
